RACING in NARRAGANSETT BAY

The Race Committee has flown flag "R" at 0900 indicating the course location will be up the Bay today in the area between Gould Island and Prudence Island.  This should give the fleet of 22 boats great sailing conditions in relatively flat water although the current is far more challenging in the Bay.  High tide was at 0859 this morning, so it should be ebbing (from north to south) all day today. With a full moon, the current should be fairly strong and the sailors will need to be extra careful not to get pushed over early at the start!

More from the race course once racing begins...
